Manitoba Targets Three Streams In Latest Provincial Immigration Draw

The Manitoba government issued 181 Letters of Advice to Apply in the new draw through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Programs.

The January 30 draw saw Letters of Advice sent across three MPNP streams. Skilled Workers In Manitoba got 124 LAAs, with the lowest-ranked applicants scoring 548 points.

Skilled Workers Overseas received Thirty- nine (39) Letters through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, with 679 scored by the lowest-ranked applicants.

International Education Stream applicants received Eighteen (18) LAAs.

Manitoba stated that Eleven (11) of the 181 applicants had valid Express Entry IDs and job seeker validation codes.

The last Manitoba draw saw the 249 Letters of Advice to Apply sent out.

The Jan. 17 draw saw 192 LAAs sent to SWM candidates, with a minimum score of 545.

A further thirty-four (34) LAAs were sent to Skilled Workers Overseas candidates through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, for which the lowest-ranked applicants scored 708 points.

The remaining Twenty-Three (23) LAAs were issued to International Education Stream candidates.

Manitoba stated that Twenty-two (22) of the 249 applicants had valid Express Entry IDs and job seekers validation codes.

Eligibility Requirements for Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream?

The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Streams (SWM) is based on the specific requirements of Manitoba employers. SWM chooses foreign-trained workers with the needed skills and nominate them for Canada permanent residence. The stream prioritizes applicants with a strong ties to Manitoba, with two routes to Manitoba immigration.

a) Manitoba Work Experience Routes

For candidates currently working in Manitoba on temporary work permits, via the Temporary Foreign Workers Program or as international graduates from any province. Applicants do not need to be working in In-Demand Occupation.

b) Employer Direct Recruitment Route

For candidates from overseas countries with job offers from approved Manitoba employers.

Eligibility Requirements For The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream?

The Skilled Worker Overseas Streams (SWO) includes both a dedicated Canada Express Entry route and a direct provincial route.

It is aimed at international skilled workers with skills and trainings in Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupation. Priority is given to candidates and spouses with close family ties, plus the language proficiency, training and experience to get jobs quickly.

a) Manitoba Express Entry route

For international applicants qualified under another MPNP program, who also meet Express Entry requirements and have an valid Express Entry profile. Candidates need skills, training and experience in one of Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupation, and a strong family ties to the province.

b) Human Capital Route

For international skilled worker with skills, training and experience in one of Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupation. applicants must demonstrate the potential to find job soon after they arrive in Manitoba.
